Hair Extensions Care Instructions

People who wear net weaves or weaves in general may  experience seborrheic dermatitis and/or buildup. Using the formula below 1-2 times a week depending on your individual need may help keep this under control.

  1. Apply liberally detangling conditioning shampoo on DRY weave/extensions hair keeping hair in one direction to avoid tangles use wide tooth comb if necessary. Mix 3 drops of (essential tea tree oil) and 3 parts(oz.) of hair oil using one or the other ( olive oil, apricot oil, and jojoba oil) = solution.( Solution differs according to your natural hair & extensions/sweave hair type.)
  2. Essential tea tree oil and hair oil solution should be applied to the scalp. First make sure you have coil cotton wrap around the perimeter of the hairline. Apply a plastic cap to head and sit under the dryer for 20-25 minutes on high heat this helps remove dandruff and excessive buildup on the scalp as well providing you a hot oil treatment all in one.
  3. Rinse thoroughly, apply detangling conditioning shampoo to weave hair then comb thru shampoo with a wide tooth comb keeping hair in one direction at all times ( If weave hair type doesn’t have much yack to it it use a good cleansing shampoo like Kera Kare 1st Lather or Design Essentials Organic Cleanse ). I recommend shampooing hair in the shower to control the hair in one direction. Shampoo session could be 1 – 3 times. You do not want to dry out or tangle the weave hair. Apply an instant conditioner to weave hair let sit on hair for 5-15 minutes (depends on the extenson hair). Then rinse out thoroughly. Spray Sulfur 8 medicated anti- dandruff leave – in conditioner in between tracks making sure conditioner makes contact with your scalp! ( You can also add olive oil drops to the sulfur 8 mixture but limit the amount so mixture does not make hair oily.) If Sulfur 8 leave-in treatment causes additional itching or irritation use any leave-in liquid conditioner that you know works well with your hair and add olive oil drops with tea tree, eucalyptus, orange or lemon, lavendar &  pacthouli essential oils you must experiment with these essential oils to determine if the solution works well with your scalp and hair. USE ESSENTIAL OILS SPARINGLY(A couple of drops at a time)!
  4. You can air-dry your hair naturally or with a diffuser. Blow-drying is okay first you should use a Denman vented brush to straighten weave hair while blow-drying before using dryer comb attachment to remove unwanted snarls. Hooded dryers are excellent.
  5. Oil-free lightweight hair shine or gloss may be used. Recommended brands are Kera Kare , Design Essentials & Biolage finishing products.  USE FINISHING PRODUCTS SPARINGLY ( JUST A LITTLE )!
  6. Kera Kare , Design Essentials and Biolage  detangling products works well with human hair weave maintenance.
  7. Flat iron and curling irons may be used just make sure you test the temperature levels from mid-low to the  highest depending on what brand you use.
  8. Enjoy your custom weave/extensions and share the knowledge of caring for human hair weaves and extensions.

Many Blessings To You,
